We got involved with the Village Centre project after seeing the information stand at the Village Festival in September. As newcomers to Sutton-On-Trent (we moved here 18 months ago), it's great that the local community are actively trying to develop new facilities for everyone who lives here. We have a 6 month old son and we hope to stay in the village as he grows up. This project aims to develop a centre that the village can be proud of for many years to come - we feel very pleased to be part of that.

We moved to the village in 2001 with the intention of setting down and raising a family. There is a wonderful sense of community in this area, which we feel will be great enhanced by the new Village Centre. We plan to send our little girl to the local school and hope she will be able to make full use of the local clubs and facilities rather than needing to travel away.

I serve on the Village Centre committee. Having a family, I feel it is really important for the village to have a facility that will promote all that’s good about our village life. We are fortunate enough to live in a lovely village, with a thriving community spirit. This spirit exists because of the effort many villages make both now and in the years gone by. The proposed Village Centre provides me with the opportunity now, to do my bit and contribute to providing the village with an up to date, much needed village centre providing the entire community with enhanced facilities and services for the future. I cannot think of a single villager of Sutton-on-Trent, or surrounding villages who would not benefit and use the new centre. So if you can identify with anything I have mentioned here in my testimony, I would urge you to come forward and contribute to our new village venture.
